If you are the kind of person who just loves to be in nature, then the Lowveld Botanical Gardens is the best place to be. These gardens are quite close to town, although they were once very much out of the town limits, and with its stunningly green lawn, it is the perfect place to have a picnic.
- Lunch in Mosambik
You don’t have to go over the border for a taste of Mozambique cuisine. In Ferreira Street, the Mosambik restaurant is a relatively new addition to the foodie scene and they have some truly delectable food.

- Barberton
The old town of Barberton is a great place to spend a morning or afternoon. With its interesting historical walk, guests can see what the town used to look like, in the early 1900s and it does not cost a cent.
- A Kruger Safari
The Kruger is a mere hour and a half’s drive from the city and it is a wonderful place to spend a day, even if you have been here a dozen times before.
- A walk on the edge
And if the heat gets too much and you’d like to walk in the forested, misty mountains, then Kaapsehoop is just a half an hour’s drive away.
