When staying in the Nelspruit area, there is plenty to do and see. Here are just a few of the places you can visit and things you can do when you next find yourself in town.
Spend the evening at Emnotweni
Nelspruit’s foremost gambling facility, Emnotweni also has a bar with views of the town and nearby botanical gardens, a restaurant more than capable of serving up all kinds of delicious meals, and then there are the movie theatres. Movies @ Emnotweni are quite a popular attraction as they are more affordable than the alternative which can be found at iLanga Mall. It is very easy to get lost in the fun here.
Take a walk in the gardens
While we have a beautiful garden here at Pensao if you are looking for something a little different, you can always pay a visit to the Lowveld Botanical Gardens. The gardens are something of an oasis in an otherwise permanently busy town and guests can so easily unwind here. The gardens have numerous trails to explore and while in the garden, you can always stop off for a bite to eat. The gardens boast spectacular views of the river and its waterfalls, so be sure to pack your camera.
Visit the Kruger National Park
The world famous Kruger National Park is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area, and you can either book a game drive or drive yourself through the park. The park is a very short drive away and a day trip is more than enough to see all kinds of animals including the Big 5. The park opens very early in the summer and closes quite late in the evenings, so a day here can easily include a full 8 hours.
Go Hiking
Nelspruit is very much an outdoors kind of town and guests have the perfect opportunity to go for a hike in numerous places around the town. The most popular day hiking destination has to be Kaapsehoop. With its bohemian, laidback lifestyle and a community of people who are always warm and welcoming, Kaapsehoop has long been a favourite amongst locals. Guests to Nelspruit can spend their day walking amongst the unique rock formations and forests. Taking a walk right up to the escarpment and gazing down into the valley below is a popular pastime.
